The D23 Expo has been packed with huge reveals!
From new attractions and expansions in the parks, to trailers and first looks at movies — Disney has already given fans a lot to be excited about. And the excitement continues, courtesy of a special film inspired by The Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary.
At the D23 Expo, Disney revealed the new film, Wish, which is set to open in November 2023. The movie features a smart, optimistic, 17-year-old girl, Asha, and another character named Star (an actual star from the sky).
Asha has a big wish, which takes her on a huge journey — putting her up against “one of the most formidable foes in Disney history.” (Any guesses on who this is?) And, thanks to Asha’s wishing, Star comes down from the sky to help Asha on this journey.
The movie will blend 2D watercolor style with 3D CGI. And, of course, it will celebrate Disney’s past, present, and future. Asha will be voiced by Ariana DeBose, and the movie will feature original music from Julia Michaels.
