PHOTOS: There's a NEW Way to Take to the Sky in the Millennium Falcon…

Happy Star Wars Day to all who celebrate! There are all sorts of exciting things happening today from limited time snacks and treats, to exciting merchandise (that you’d better be prepared to wait for). Even Orlando International Airport is getting in on the May the 4th fun with a special new Star Wars character!

Today, an unexpected company announced how they were getting into the Star Wars Day spirit! Alaska Airlines announced a partnership with Disneyland and unveiled something pretty intergalactic…or at the very least, intercontinental.

Alaska Airlines announced today that a new Star Wars-themed plane has made its way to the fleet. This plane features some of the most well known Star Wars icons like the Millennium Falcon and TIE Fighters.

There’s even Porgs on both winglets and a Porg greeting guests when they board the plane!

This plane is a celebration of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and is the seventh Alaska plane that has been painted for the Disneyland Resort. Guests flying Alaska Airlines today who were wearing their Star Wars shirts got to board their plane first to celebrate the day.

This plane, called “Star Wars Transport to Disneyland Resort,” is expected to fly in the Alaska Airline fleet for at least the next eight years. It joins “Friendship and Beyond at Disneyland Resort,” the Alaska plane painted in 2019 as a tribute to Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure.
