Disney World has already been preparing for its HUGE 50th anniversary celebrations.
We know that Mickey and Minnie will receive a new get-up and the park icons will have a makeover of their own. Cinderella Castle has already started to see decorations now with banners and ribbons all around the walls and turrets.
We don’t have too many details at this time about the festivities that will be taking place. But, we do know that the celebration starts on October 1st this year and will last 18 months for guests to visit! Today, though, we got a surprise because the first piece of 50th anniversary merchandise has been revealed.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Northern Florida has paired with the parks to bring the first-ever Walt Disney World Resort specialty license plate to life! And, the theme is the 50th anniversary with “EARidescent” colors on the castle logo and a royal blue background.
The license plate is available for pre-sale with 100% of the proceeds going towards Make-A-Wish! Um, AMAZING, right? Guest can purchase the $25 pre-sale voucher, plus the applicable state administration fees exclusively through their local County Tax Collector’s Office, license plate agencies (DMVs) across the State of Florida, or online through the Orange County Tax Collector’s Office.
