Throughout the course of the pandemic, we’ve seen a lot of new health and safety policies.

We’ve seen mask mandates, stay-at-home orders, and policies like social distancing and temperature checks. There have been stricter travel procedures and many canceled events. Now that a vaccine is available, we may start to see more changes, and to help more people get vaccinated, Facebook will now be offering extra information for users.
CNBC reported that starting this week, Facebook will begin showing its U.S. users more information about when and where they can get vaccinated for COVID-19. In the weeks after, this feature will extend globally.

As part of the website’s COVID-19 Information Center, users will be directed to local health agency websites where they can learn more about vaccine distributions and their eligibility. Facebook will also provide $120 billion in ad credits to health agencies so that they can run COVID-19 campaigns on the site.

The company is also working with the World Health Organization to stop the spread of misinformation regarding COVID-19 on their website.

If a group violates these guidelines, admins will be required to turn on post approval. On Instagram, it will be more difficult to find accounts that discourage people from getting vaccinated. Groups, pages, and accounts that share false claims about COVID-19 may be removed from the sites altogether.
