Tom Kane, Disney Voice Actor for Monorail and ‘The Clone Wars’, Passes Away at 64

We know how important the Star Wars universe is for so many fans around the world, despite how many years have passed since some of the films and TV shows came out.

Unfortunately, we have some sad news to share about one of the actors involved in the iconic “Clone Wars” series that ran from 2008 to 2020. Tom Kane, one of the voice actors for the series, has passed away.

Tom Kane was an actor most known for his work as Yoda in the “Clone Wars” series, but has also worked on the Harry Potter: Magic Awakened video game, as well as the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game. He was also the narrator one episode of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” among other Star Wars media. You’ve also heard his voice on the Disney World Monorail, as well as for the fireworks shows in the parks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he passed away today at the age of 64.

The actor suffered a stroke in 2020 that left him unable to speak or write. He didn’t retire until 2021, though, and recently was able to attend the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention in Kentucky in March, where he reunited with theThe Powerpuff Girlscast for the first time in years. His talent agency, Galactic Productions, confirmed his passing was due to stroke complications at a hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

In a statement, Galactic Productions said, “From his unforgettable performances in Star Wars to countless animated series, documentaries and games, Tom brought wisdom, strength, humor and heart to every role he touched. His voice became part of our lives, our memories and the stories we carry with us.”
