When it comes to flying, the part that people often find more stressful is getting through security. Which makes total sense!

TSA PreCheck is a way to make flying easier, but it does cost extra, so it’s up to you to weigh what’s more important to you — saving money or getting through the line quicker. However, as it turns out, getting through TSA PreCheck could be getting even FASTER at numerous airports, including Miami, very soon.
TSA PreCheck has recently announced that they’re partnering with the Miami International Airport (MIA) and participating airlines to offer TSA PreCheck® Touchless ID at the airport’s North, Central, and South Terminals. However, you also must be flying with American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Alaska Airlines, or United Airlines.

What exactly is this service, you ask? Well, instead of having to present your boarding pass or physical ID at the checkpoint, you’ll stand in front of a face scanner, and it will check your ID on file to ensure you’re a match. When speaking of bringing this tech to the airport, TSA’s Federal Security Director for MIA, Stephen Taber, said, “Bringing TSA PreCheck Touchless ID to MIA marks another step forward in modernizing airport security and improving the passenger journey. We are excited to offer this cutting-edge option to our travelers, reducing wait times and leading to a more streamlined security screening process.”

However, this is far from the only airport this service is currently at, and it’s coming to even MORE in the near future. While it is still recommended you carry a physical ID as a backup, you can currently experience this tech at 40 airports nationwide, and it’s on its way to 25+ others.
