Disney World has all sorts of premium transportation to get around the property, including Buses, the Monorail, boats, and the Skyliner. They take you from park to park, hotel to park, or hotel to hotel.

At the start of the new year, transportation is going to get a little trickier. So, if you have a Disney World vacation planned for 2026, you’re going to want to be aware of this temporary Skyliner closure!
If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
If you’re traveling to Disney World in late January 2026, you won’t be able to use the Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner will be temporarily closed from January 25th to January 31st, 2026.

This is a routine refurbishment that Disney does on the Skyliner every year, although it never closed in 2025. However, the closure doesn’t come as a surprise, but it is unfortunate for guests who will be at these hotels at that time.

The Disney Skyliner doesn’t take you everywhere, but it is located in quite a few spots around the resort. It acts as a connector between Hollywood Studios, EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, and select Disney hotels! Guests moving from Hollywood Studios to EPCOT, or vice versa, will need to use an alternative option for the time being.

You’ll also have to note that guests staying at the Riviera, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation, and Pop Century will need to use another form of transportation as well, as those resorts are on the Skyliner path.

Disney World will be offering a bus service in place of the temporarily closed Skyliner. Disney doesn’t usually offer buses as transportation at locations where you can either use the Skyliner or Monorail to get between places. The only exceptions are weather, and in this case, temporary closures.

Temporary closures always suck, but at least this one is only lasting a few days, barring any delays. We just wanted to remind you, as crazy enough, 2026 is just around the corner. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars so you don’t miss out on the latest Disney news and updates!
