WARNING: You May Not Be Able to Visit Magic Kingdom on These 2 Days

Christmas Day at Disney World is one of the most popular times of year to visit, and if you are planning on celebrating the holiday at the parks, you might want to act fast.

It’s the holiday season!

With the holiday season coming up fast, families from around the world flock to the parks to experience the festive decorations, special entertainment, and the magic that only Disney can deliver on Christmas morning. Because of this high demand, the Park Pass reservation system, which requires guests to book a spot in advance to enter the parks, shows availability dropping fast.

If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!

As a reminder, at this time, Park Pass reservations are only required for Annual Passholders and guests without date-based tickets (which can be one-day tickets or multi-day tickets). This is who needs a park pass reservation at this time:

  • Student group tickets
  • Sport and Convention tickets
  • Disney Military Salute Ticket
  • Annual Passholders
  • Florida Resident Summer Magic Ticket
  • Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket
  • Any other tickets not mentioned above that are NOT date-based

You can see that Theme Park Tickets and Select Resort Hotels both are sold out of reservations for Magic Kingdom on the day of Christmas Day. The other 3 parks still have availability for now, but that is likely to change as we get closer to the date.

For now, all parks are still available for Annual Passholders who are not blocked out during Christmas. However, we have seen this change quickly because Disney will not give a notification when it’s almost full. If you are thinking about spending the holidays at the parks, you might want to go ahead and make that reservation.

If you are planning to spend Christmas at the parks, remember that it will be crowded. With crowds come longer lines for attractions, shows, food, and even bathrooms. We also see Lightning Lane prices increase during this time of the year.
