This Is Not a Drill – Monopoly Is RETURNING to McDonald’s

Big news! The iconic Monopoly Game is returning to McDonald’s! That’s right, this fan-favorite game is returning after almost a decade, and you can start playing soon.

The game officially kicks off on October 6th, and you can collect pieces and win prizes through November 2nd. If you played the game years ago, you’ll notice a few changes, but we have all the details!

As McDonald’s put it, “the thrill of the peel” is coming back! To play, all you have to do is order select items from McDonald’s, and you will get the chance to peel off a game piece. Using the McDonald’s app, you can collect your property pieces and redeem any prizes you win.

There are two ways to get in on the fun: physical game pieces and digital game pieces. The physical game pieces will be attached to select items, and the digital game pieces will be earned in the McDonald’s app. With both game pieces, there will also be a Bonus Play that will give you a second chance to win. Unlike before, there won’t be a physical game board to collect your pieces, instead it will all be digital through the McDonald’s app.

This year, there are lots of options for prizes, including 1 million American Airlines AAdvantage miles, a $50,000 Vacation to a MONOPOLY GO! Location (a destination featured in Scopely’s mobile game MONOPOLY like Paris, Maui, or Tokyo), and a $10,000 Lowe’s Shopping Spree. Plus, there are lots of opportunities for winning free food prizes at McDonald’s. Also, playing the Bonus Play game will enter you for a chance to win a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, exclusive experiences from The Coca-Cola Company, and one player could even win $1 million cash.

If you pre-register for the game between September 29th and October 5th, you will also get 500 bonus MyMcDonald’s Rewards points. To pre-register, download the app, opt in to rewards, and register for the game. Whether you end up playing or not, you can still get 500 points!

And Monopoly isn’t the only reason for you to head to McDonald’s in October. You can also stop by to grab the cult favorite, limited-edition Boo Buckets. McDonald’s has confirmed that Boo Buckets will be available again this year at participating U.S. locations.
