Two BIG Problems With Lightning Lanes in Disney World Today

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World and you’re trying to decide whether to use the Lightning Lane system or not, you NEED to first know about these two big problems.

Frozen Ever After Lightning Lane

Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass can both be purchased a few days prior to your trip and some rides can be reserved in advance. The Lightning Lane system allows you to skip the line at select attractions, saving you time in line. But before you decide to purchase your Lightning Lanes, let’s talk about these two big recent problems.

PhotoPass Is Not Included

If you have ever visited Disneyland, you might think that you get the same photo perks in Disney World as you do there. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

In Disneyland, if you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you get unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from the day you purchased Multi Pass. This even includes pictures taken by Disney photographers, not just ride photos. You can also unlock Disney PhotoPass Lenses.

But if you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass in Disney World, you do NOT get this perk. It’s real bummer since you’re paying the same or more for the service as you would in Disneyland.

Character Meet-and-Greets Are No Longer Included

Previously, you could use Lightning Lane Multi Pass to skip long character meet-and-greet lines. Unfortunately this has recently changed, so you are now subjected to standing in the potentially very long lines to visit your favorite characters.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger meet and greet

This might be a pretty big bummer for families with kiddos who want to prioritize meeting characters over riding big rides. It is also unfortunate because the price of Lightning Lane Multi Pass did not change. They removed an experience from the list of options but charge just as much as they always have, so keep that in mind as you’re planning out your days.

Raya and the Last Dragon meet and greet

As you get ready to head to Disney World, you’ll want to keep these two things in mind. We hope this helps you plan for your upcoming vacation! Lightning Lane can be a game changer in the theme parks, but it might not be for everyone.
