The Annoying Ride Rule Disney Adults Must Follow in Disneyland

Disneyland has rules for a reason, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be annoyed by them.

It’s super easy to have a good time at the Disneyland Resort while abiding by the rules. Still, why we don’t condone breaking one rule in particular, it is something that has irritated us and other Disney Adults.

We understand Disney’s rules, but there’s one that is a pain to follow (even if it’s totally necessary).

Disneyland

There are plenty of unwritten Disneyland rules that are annoying but necessary. For example, letting young kids fly the Millennium Falcon in Smugglers Run, while you work a different role, is the RIGHT thing to do…even if it might result in a bumpy experience.

However, there are some rules written in print that get kinda serious, like how you’re supposed to store all loose items like glasses, hats, phones, and backpacks before the ride.

We get it. If you’re on a thrilling or “turbulent” ride, the last thing you want to do is have something fly out of your ride vehicle. You can lose or damage your item, it can mess with the ride mechanics, or you could even injure someone.

Unless you preemptively packed up all your stuff, the struggle to fit everything into your bag and jam it into a small ride pocket in front of you is stressful.

Over in Mickey’s Toon Town, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a rule was implemented which states you can no longer hold any loose items, so when they say store your items — that now includes phones, water bottles, and ear headbands.

If you’re someone who likes to take photos and videos on the rides, that ain’t happening anymore, and we could see this trend become more widespread.

Breaking this rule is extra embarrassing, as Cast Members might even cut the music, stop the ride, and tell you to put your stuff away.

Seriously, it would be awful to have your things fly off the ride vehicle. It’s incredibly dangerous, and Disney implements rules like this to look out for you. But that fact doesn’t make it feel any less of an inconvenience.

Annoying or not, we promise to follow all of Disneyland’s safety rules and urge you to do the same. If those rules ever change, you can hear all about it by staying posted right here at AllEars!
