Nothing can stop us now! Well, except for this new rule, you need to know about before riding Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

As someone obsessed with Disney rides, I feel like I know everything there is to know about attractions. When one of our reporters noticed a change at this popular Mickey’s Toon Town attraction, I knew I had to share it with all of you so you don’t face the embarrassment of rule-breaking.
At Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Disneyland, you can no longer hold any loose items, and that includes cell phones. That means if you’re someone who likes to take photos and videos on the rides, you’ll want to keep your phone in your pocket for this attraction.

Sometimes, if you have your phone out when you’re not supposed to, they’ll cut the music, and Cast Members will tell you to put your phone away. Talk about embarrassing!

While this ride doesn’t have a height requirement, it can get pretty jerky throughout the scenes. From the tornado, joining a dance class, and going through a construction site, your phone might slip right out of your hands.

Mickey & Minnie’s is a trackless ride, and while the whole ground is flat, Cast Members aren’t able to pop onto the attraction and pick up your dropped items. The whole ride has to be shut down, and depending on where your phone lands, you might have to wait until the end of the day to get it back. Trust me, you don’t want to go a day at Disney without your phone.

While not being able to hold phones is a new addition, this also applies to any loose items, such as sunglasses, water bottles, hats, and Mickey ears. It can get pretty windy in there, and you don’t want to lose your hat either!

This Toontown favorite is in the El CapiTOON Theater, and the queue is full of so many easter eggs and details. The actual ride is the same as the original in Disney World. Even if you’ve been on it in Disney World, we recommend riding it in Disneyland to see the queue.

Next time you ride, make sure you tuck your phone away and keep following AllEars for more Disney tips.
