We LOVE When Epic Universe Listens – A NEW Feature Just Arrived at the Park!

Epic Universe officially opened on May 22nd, 2025, and while there has been a lot of positive feedback about this brand-new Universal theme park, one issue has been consistently mentioned: the lack of shade.

It is no secret that Florida can get HOT, and many visitors (including us) have noted that Epic Universe lacks adequate shade throughout the park. It can feel pretty miserable when you are spending all day in the park in the blaring sun. Well, Universal is listening! They have added something to Epic Universe to help with this issue.

According to @bioreconstruct, Cool Zones have been added in Celestial Park. These areas allow guests to stand or sit near large fans and enjoy some chilled air throughout their day. These Cool Zones have been placed at The Cosmos Fountain, near the Stardust Racers bathrooms, and near the outdoor seating of the restaurants that will be opening next year.

We will be interested to see if they continue adding these Cool Zones to other areas around the park. We are glad that Universal is taking steps to address one of Epic Universe’s issues!

Celestial Park

Epic Universe features five themed lands: Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. There is so much to explore in this new park! The Cool Zones will definitely be a very welcome break while you are making your way around this new theme park.
