Disney CONFIRMS Alcohol Will Be Served at the Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge in Magic Kingdom

We’ve gotten some thrilling news about Magic Kingdom‘s newest dining spot coming later this year, and we need to share ASAP!

Earlier today, we found out the official name of the lounge will be The Beak and Barrel, and now there’s even more news that was hiding on the official Disney World page for the location — it’s confirmed that this spot WILL serve alcohol.

On the official Disney World website page for The Beak and Barrel, the following is listed at the bottom of the page: “Guests must be 21 years of age or over to consume alcohol; valid photo ID is required. There is a maximum of 2 drinks per Guest.”

This is a pretty big shift for Magic Kingdom, as currently the only place to grab alcoholic drinks is at table service restaurants. While this location will also require/highly recommend advanced dining reservations, just like table service restaurants, and it’s looking like you won’t be able to take drinks out of the location into the rest of the park, it’s still something to note.

Additionally, we noticed that there’s a limit of 2 drinks per person, and similar to Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios, parties are limited to spending 45 minutes in the lounge due to the limited capacity.

We found out earlier today that the lounge is run by Captain Meridian ‘Merry’ Goldwyn, and her talkative first mate, Rummy.” Rummy serves as the tavern’s quartermaster, keeping an eye on everything from his roost, and he’ll even host a toast or two! We also learned that the main section of the lounge will be called “The Mess” with large tables that span the room, anchored by a large bar. A smaller, and (potentially!) more sought-after/harder to get section of the lounge will be called the Captain’s Quarters.
