BIG Disney Lorcana News Was Just Released!

We’ve got fantastic news for Disney Lorcana players everywhere!

This card game was released back in August 2023 with 216 cards with unique takes on Disney characters featured on each one, but has now grown to seven sets with over 1500 cards! However, the company isn’t planning on stopping any time soon — not only is there an eighth set to release soon, but a NINTH set was just announced!

The eighth set of cards, Reign of Jafar, is set to release this month with pre-orders beginning May 30th and pack available everywhere on June 6th — Disney describes the storyline as, “Jafar now possesses the Hexwell Crown and, with it, he has corrupted Archazia’s Island to his wicked will. Traps and illusions abound in Reign of Jafar, and glimmers like Jasmine – Steady Strategist and Rapunzel – High Climber will need to band together to steal back the crown and defeat the evil vizier.” Additionally, Illumineers’ Quest: Palace Heist will allow for four players to go up against Jafar and his minions!

But that’s not all — now we know there’s ANOTHER new set of cards coming this fall. Fabled is the ninth set and will release everywhere on September 5th, 2025! You’ll be able to look for two new rarities in each pack: Iconic and Epic. Iconics are extremely rare with only two in each set, while Epics will appear more often than Enchanted cards and feature special artwork and foil treatments. Fabled also marks the first time the game will rotate cards out of being legally available to competitive players to include in their decks. Disney says that “The first four sets will rotate out of the Core Constructed format, but will still be available to play in a new format, called Infinity Constructed,” but fans can continue to play with their entire card collection (but you’ll want to keep the competition fresh).

There’s more where that came from though! If you’re feeling confident in your Lorcana skills, the Disney Lorcana World Championship will take place on June 28th & 29th this year, and 28 of the world’s best players will compete to crown the first annual Disney Lorcana TCG World Champion!
