The SNEAKY Disney World Hotel Fee You Didn't Know You Were Paying

There are a lot of great reasons to stay at a Disney World Resort on your vacation.

You can take advantage of free transportation to the parks, free parking at the parks, fun theming, and more. You get extra access to the parks through Early Theme Park Entry, and some guests get Extended Evening Hours. But there is one hidden fee you could be paying on your next vacation.

Did you know that the price of your room changes if there are 3 adults in a room compared to 2 adults and kids? That’s right. The price will increase once another adult is added to your Disney hotel room reservation. Let’s break down the cost for each Disney resort category.

For the example, we are using a two-night stay from November 7th to 9th in a preferred room at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. With 2 adults, no discounts, your room total would be $634.50. That price stays the same if you add a child to the reservation.

But, when you change it to 3 adults in the same room, the total is $668.26. That’s $33.76 more for the 3rd adult.

Moderate Resort

Next, we’re going to look at a moderate resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter, for those same dates. You would pay $859.50, with no room discounts for two adults, in a Garden View room.

For three adults in the same Garden View room, you would pay $915.76. That’s a $56.26 increase for the room, making this an even more expensive fee at the moderate resort compared to a value resort.

Deluxe Resort

Finally, we will look at those same dates for a stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. For two people staying in a Resort View room, it is $1,428.76.

For three adults, you are going to pay $1,507.50. That’s an additional $78.74 to add in the extra adult. Again, there is no fee for adding two kids to a room.

If you are traveling with 3 adults or more, it might be a better deal to look at staying at a value resort, as the fee for an additional adult is less overall. Either way, this is something you might want to think about when budgeting for your Disney World hotel room!
