Universal is the place to be in 2025!

Epic Universe is opening on May 22nd, and there are new hotels opening up to continue the expansion of the resort. As the resort grows in popularity, you might be wondering how to beat your friends on the most competitive ride at the resort: Men in Black Alien Attack. As a former Team Member, I have a few insights and I’m spilling the secrets here.Â
If you’ve never been on Men in Black Alien Attack, you’re missing out! This classic shooter style attraction takes you into training to become a Man in Black just like Will Smith in the movie of the same name. During your training, there’s an attack on New York and you now have to step into the real fight!

During the game, you work to have the highest scores so you can earn bragging rights for the rest of your trip and I’m here to let you in on the secret to being the best MIB agent there is. The maximum score you can get is 999,999, although I’ll be honest, it’s nearly impossible to max out your score.

According to one of the ride’s creators, they made it a lot more difficult a few years ago to max out your score, and now you have to not only play perfectly but also have a perfect run. What that means is the ride vehicle has to move at exactly the right times and you have to get target opportunities at exactly the right times, so if you don’t get 999,999, don’t feel too bad!

Before you get on board the ride, there are a few things to remember. First, don’t let go of the trigger! It won’t stop firing, and every 10 shots will get you 1,000 points, so even if you miss every target, you’ll still get a little something. Also, not all of the shooters are created equal, so don’t beat yourself up too much if your score isn’t what you want.

Second, remember that the big bugs are worth less! Focus on the smaller targets like the aliens in the windows or eyes in the walls. If you sit on the side, it’s easier to hit those hard-to-spot targets. There are also two different sides of the ride. The tracks are marked on the floor with green or red, with the red track being more difficult. If you can help it, sit in the front row of the ride vehicle.

Finally, hit one target as many times as you can! If you can rack up points on one good target, it’s better than taking the time to switch between them. If you’re serious about maximizing your points, we’ll need to break it down room by room. Once you get on the ride, the first section of the ride is the training room.Â

In the training room, watch for specific targets. Aim for the large creature hanging on the ceiling, the alien in the middle window of the overpass, and (if you can hit the first target) the flat alien on the wall. Once you’re past those three, aim for the other large bug hanging from the ceiling, the alien swinging on the right wall, and finally the alien in the middle window above the garage door. (The last guy is important! Keep shooting until the gun deactivates.)

Hopefully, you have more than 100,000 at this point! After the training room, you’ll head into the Crash Site section of the ride! There are 6 targets in this room.
-
- First, aim for the standing alien directly in front of the crashed spaceship that slowly pops up. If you aim for right between his eyes or on his forehead, you’ll get more points.
- Second, aim for the aliens in the window! One will open and close the slats on the window, and the other will pop up. Only worry about picking one and hitting it multiple times.
- Third, aim your gun towards the second-story window around the tower block. As always, pick one and stick to it.
- Target four is the guns of the large tentacle alien that comes out of the second-story window. Listen for a chiming noise to know if you’re hitting the target or not.
- Fifth, the alien in the slatted doorway of the store will come out just a few seconds after you pass the tentacle alien.
- Finally, the alien behind the curtain in the top left window of the same shop is a target. Aim in the middle of the window to get some big points.

The third section of the ride is when you’re ambushed! This part is pretty short, so get ready. Once it starts, there are some small aliens that pop out of a trashcan, aim for him until you see the eyes in the bushes. Aim for those eyes and hold down the trigger before you spin into the X-ray scanners, before you eventually face the other riders on the other track opposite you. Fingers crossed that you have between 400,000 and 500,000 at this point.Â

Once the scan ends, shoot the fusion exhaust port at the very top of the other cart! You can score an extra 25,000 if you hit it! You might start spinning during this section, so hold on. Sometimes the exhaust port becomes deactivated, so there might not be any points for you. If this is the case, aim for the glowing eyes in the posters on the wall as you go down Main Street, the eyes on the side of the market building, or the parking meter on the sidewalk. (The last one is for the green track only!)

The final room takes you to the Big Bug! When you’re told to push the red button, push your button quickly and hold it down for multiple points. If you get the points, your screen will tell you. Pushing this button earns you 100,000 points, so don’t mess around. And there you have it! You’re ready to try and become the best MIB agent this headquarters has ever seen.Â

I can’t wait to put these to the test when I head to Universal soon! As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more Universal secrets.
