The Disney Destiny sets sail on her maiden voyage later this year, on November 20th, 2025, and we can’t wait!

This new ship will feature a first-of-its-kind theme: Onboard the Destiny, you’ll encounter heroes and villains alike from stories including The Lion King, Hercules, 101 Dalmatians, and more. We’re LIVE from the first Disney Destiny preview, bringing you a FIRST LOOK at what’s coming to the ship!
If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your cruise, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
The Disney Destiny is Disney Cruise Line’s seventh ship in the fleet, and according to Disney, Imagineers were “inspired by the dynamic duality of every great Disney story when developing this new ship, where opposing forces of light and dark drive characters to rise to their purpose.”

This brand-new cruise ship features both heroes and villains, and we have already gotten a sneak peek at some of what we can experience onboard, including the first ever Lion King-themed restaurant along with a brand new experience at Worlds of Marvel featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy
Let’s take a look at what you’ll get to experience on this brand-new ship, the Disney Destiny!
Grand Hall
While we didn’t get to step foot into the Grand Hall ourselves, we did get a chance to see some more concept art for the new space!

Here’s a better look at it:

The video also included a look at how the sculptures and figurines around the ship are being made, which was fascinating to see.

We can’t wait to step foot into this beautiful space ourselves at the end of this year!
Lounges
We were thrilled to get a chance to see and try two of the drinks coming to The Sanctum. This lounge is brand new to Disney Cruise Line and is “inspired by the powerful sorcerers and mystical artifacts of Doctor Strange.” Not only will you find entertainment here, but also a “magical array of cocktails, spirits and coffees; and unique surprises from Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum, including a circular mirror behind the bar that evokes the building’s iconic window.”

The first drink we tried was the Circle of the Cosmos, which is a non-alcoholic drink made with non-alcoholic gin, non-alcoholic Vermouth, and lemon juice. This one reminded us of a ginger lemonade, in a way, and it was hard but not in a bad way. It does have a bit of a strange aftertaste, thanks to that non-alcoholic gin that tastes almost like soap, but it surprisingly wasn’t too off-putting. We think it’s a fun non-alcoholic drink to try, but the taste wasn’t totally our favorite, so while the glass is epic, it’s something to keep in mind.

Then we also got to try the Vapors of V,altorr which is made with Vodka, Ginger Beer, pea flower, and lime juice. We really loved this one — it’s basically a fancy Moscow Mule, but it was way more balanced, which we enjoyed. The combination of all the ingredients made it delightful, and we loved the presentation. We were very impressed and would totally order it again!

At this spot, you’ll also be able to grab stuffed waffles with custard cream…

…and stuffed waffles with berry compote.

Dining
We also got a look at some of the options that will be available at Edna Á La Mode Sweets! This will be a one-of-a-kind confectionary aboard the ship, which is inspired by the short “Auntie Edna.”

Just look at these cupcakes! They’re so detailed, we’re obsessed. The ones with the blue mousse are white chocolate flavored, the orange with the flat disk on top is lemon orange, and both the brown mousse ones and the red mousse ones with the Edna chocolate piece standing up are chocolate.

We did get a chance to try the white chocolate cupcake and really enjoyed it! The top wasn’t frosting like what we expected, but was mousse instead, which made it creamy and sweet without being overpowering. While the cake itself was moist and a cool purple color, it didn’t have a ton of flavor. It tasted more like regular vanilla, but since it was pretty tasty, we aren’t complaining!

Looking for a giant block of chocolate complete with M&Ms? Don’t worry, this spot will have you covered.

The best part? There are different edible designs on the front that you can get. How fun is that?!

The other desserts here look delicious too — we can’t wait to try them all out! We found out that this funky, fun-looking treat is cookie-dough flavored, which means we’ll definitely be grabbing it on board.

We’ll be counting down the months until we can see this completed space with all the delicious sweet treats. We also got a quick preview of De Vil’s! This is the Cruella De Vil piano bar that uses “Cruella de Vil’s infamous flair for style and wickedly bold attitude” as the inspiration.

We got to see a preview of some of the drinks as well. First was the Fashionista with freeze-dried strawberry and banana-infused Patron Añejo Cristalino Tequila with banana liqueur, agave nectar, and fresh lime juice clarified with milk and chilled. It’s also served with strawberry shortcake popcorn.

The second drink was the Fearless Sir Galahad, which was made with free spirits non-alcoholic bourbon, bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup, and Angostura bitters finished with aromatic smoke.

Cruella will have two shows throughout the ship. During our time in the event, Cruella interacted with guests by giving them fashion critiques and posing for photos. She also poked fun at the pianist for playing the song “Cruella De Vil,” insisting that the song wasn’t very nice.

We also checked out Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King! The songs and moments from The Lion King will come to life in this “first-of-its-kind dining experience celebrating the renowned music of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film.”

This rotational dining spot will offer African cuisine and familiar favorites. During 5-night sailings, this spot will offer 2 different menus.

You’ll be able to find dishes like;
-
- Nala’s Roasted Pork Tenderloin – Black-eyed bean-chorizo casserole, fried yuca, thyme, and pickled purple onions
- Pan-seared Berbere-spiced Roasted Chicken – Jollof rice, fried plantains, blistered tomatoes, and green harissa sauce
- Cape Malay Shrimp Curry – Garam masala, turmeric, cumin-coconut curry sauce, aromatic basmati rice, cucumber sambal, and butter roti
- Heirloom Tomato Kachumbari – Golden beet caviar, nut and seed dukkah-spiced goat cheese, and pea tendrils
- Pineapple Upside Down Cake – Moist yogurt cake, caramelized pineapple, cherries, and rooibos mousse
- Warm Chocolate Malva Pudding – Sweet vanilla pudding, apricot jam, warm buttery cream sauce, and vanilla ice cream

You can also see drinks like the Can You Feel the Rum Tonight? It comes with Starr 7 Year Oak Aged Rum, Amarula Cream Liqueur, mango smoothie mix, a pinch of cinnamon, shaken with ice, and garnished with a fresh mint leaf. Slimy Yet Satisfying is the second drink with Sprite infused with lime gelatin and garnished with centipede and worm gummies!

We can’t wait to see even more from this dining spot!
Staterooms
We also got a look at what some of the artwork will be in the different staterooms! Some will be inspired by The Incredibles…

…others will represent Hercules…

…others will feature artwork from Brave…

…or maybe you’ll get a room with Mulan…

…perhaps even Sorcerer Mickey will be there to welcome you in!

Disney also gave us a sneak peek at what the door numbers will look like outside the staterooms, and we love seeing what characters are represented!

We can’t wait to see what we get when we stay on board!
Merchandise
Disney also gave us a look at some of the new merchandise you’ll be able to grab on board, and WOW is there a lot! There are stuffed Mickey and Minnie plushes, Loungefly bags, figurines, water bottles, and magnets…

…and look at this exclusive apparel you won’t be able to get anywhere else!

It’s looking like there will be a lot of different shirts to choose from, so be prepared to save up some extra cash or make a hard decision.

If you’re a pin collector, you’re in luck — there are tons of different exclusive designs you’ll want to grab on board.

There’s also going to be an Inaugural Collection available for those sailing on the first voyage — we KNOW this merchandise will be popular, so be ready to grab it fast.

Want to spice up your evening wear? Disney Destiny cufflinks will also be available!

We also loved the Disney Destiny Snowglobe design…

…as well as this stunning Black Panther statue, which is the same one that will be seen in the Grand Hall as you enter.

Believe it or not, there’s even MORE available, but this was what we got to see this time around — we’re looking forward to checking out the ship when it’s complete and seeing everything being offered!
Entertainment
It’s not a Disney Cruise without some awesome entertainment! We got to say hello to Spider-Man pretty early on, which was epic, as always!

Maleficent also crashed our event, which was pretty special! It was a great reminder that hey, this ship isn’t JUST about the heroes — the villains are highlighted too, and it’s best you don’t forget it.

We also got a chance to learn more about the new Hercules show coming to the ship! This show will have a new song called “Shooting Star” that was originally supposed to be in the film but didn’t make the final cut.

We also learned the show will open at a museum full of Grecian artifacts, and the show’s design was inspired by the John Legend Jesus Christ Superstar television special with all of the scaffolding. The team was also inspired by “light” because we all have a light within — some of the costumes even light up, and there are tube lights all over the scaffolding!

Puppets will be used for the Hydra and for the Titans, and based on the video we saw, they’re already looking incredible! The Muses will also sing interludes during scene changes, which we love to hear.

Finally, we got to hear the actor who will be playing Hercules in the show belt out “I Can Go The Distance,” and WOW, was it incredible! It got us even more excited to see this show when it opens onboard at the end of this year.
Disney’s first-ever live Hercules just belted one of the most emotional Disney songs of all time! 🥹#disneydestiny #hosted pic.twitter.com/mZOpB0qViI
