One of the Biggest Shows on Disney+ Just Got Renewed for Season 2!

Is there anything more magical (that’s a pun you’ll understand momentarily) than your favorite show getting renewed for a new season?

Ever since its launch in 2019, Disney+ has been cranking out shows left, right, and center. But last year in October, the streaming service released Wizards Beyond Waverly Place — a sequel series to the beloved Wizards of Waverly Place — and it broke watchtime records! So it’s probably no surprise that Disney has now renewed the show for a second season.

Disney Channel announced on Twitter/X that Wizards Beyond Waverly Place will be returning for a second season on both Disney Channel and Disney+. A specific release date or timeline was not announced.

According to Variety, production on the new season will begin in May 2025 in Los Angeles. The first season’s premiere drew 3.2 million views in its first 12 days on Disney+, making it the streaming service’s most-watched series premiere ever.

“I’m overwhelmed by all the love for the series and ready to keep serving this new generation of ‘Wizards’ fans with more Russo magic, while continuing to deliver a big warm hug to the original fan!” said executive producer and series star David Henrie. “So many surprises in store for this second season. It’s going to be big, so stay tuned!”

The series follows David Henrie’s character Justin as he attempts to mentor Billie, a young wizard-in-training. We can’t wait to see how the story continues in the second season.
