If you are planning on staying hydrated and taking advantage of FREE water on your Disney World vacation, there are some things we need to talk about.

All around Disney World, you can find water and if you aren’t looking to spend $4 on a bottle of water every time you need some, don’t worry there is FREE water. But with that comes some big downsides, so we’re breaking down the dark side of free water and what you can do to make it better!
1. Florida Water is Gross
I’m just going to say it, Florida water can be gross. I’m not sure if it’s the smell or the taste, but many folks who are not from here find it disgusting — It’s me, I am folks. So where does that leave us for drinking water at Disney World?

You can grab a free water cup at any Quick Service location throughout the parks, but not all water is equal, just ask Breedlove who is our resident free water king. Some restaurants have better water than others. It could be that some are using filtered water vs. tap. Either way, don’t be shocked if you request a water cup and regret your decision.

2. Just Another Line at Disney World
When it gets really hot or crowded, you might see Disney put out free water stations. These are for anyone and can be very helpful, however, you might also find a long line of guests waiting to use them. This can get annoying when you’re in a rush and just want some water quickly.

3. Teeny Tiny Cups
The free water cups are so small! You’re honestly not going to stay hydrated if you’re only drinking 6-8oz of water at a time. You are left asking for multiple cups or finding a water refill station throughout the parks.

Some Ways to Make Free Water Better
One great way to stay hydrated is using a refillable water bottle like this Owala one that holds 24oz.

If you don’t mind carrying around a bottle, this is great to refill it either with free water cups or at one of the many refillable water stations throughout Disney World.
To make the water in the tiny cups help hydrate you, you can use Liquid IV for faster hydration.

It also includes 8 vitamins and minerals, which I think we could all agree we need while at Disney World!
Are you worried about the Florida water taste? Use Mio drops to flavor the water.

This 3.24 fl oz bottle of Mio Lemonade Naturally Flavored with other natural flavor Liquid Water Enhancer is a great option to make it taste delicious.

Doesn’t anyone drink from bubblers anymore? The water can’t taste that bad.
It’s pretty bad! Haha It definitely has a certain taste to it that’s hard to get past so many of us prefer getting water from Quick Service locations because it’s much better.
