There are a lot of BIG things coming to Disney World including a brand new hotel!

You might remember Disney announcing a hotel called Reflections — A Lakeside Lodge and never hearing about it again. Well, that hotel is now called Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge it will be the newest hotel. It is being built near Magic Kingdom, and we’re going to tell you everything we know so far about this new resort.
Location
The hotel will be built on the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. You can see by our image below that the lodge will sit next to Pioneer Hall and Tri-Circle-D Ranch.

You can also see the construction of the hotel over at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. In the photo below, you can see the construction of Lakeshore Lodge in the middle with Wilderness Lodge to the left and Fort Wilderness directly to the right.

Theme
The brand-new hotel will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.” If we zoom in on the concept art, we can see what appears to be a sign above the entrance to the hotel saying “The Wonders of Nature are Endless”. We can also see Bambi, Thumper, and Flower from Disney’s film Bambi. We aren’t sure if we can expect to see more of these characters throughout the resort or not.

Resort Category
This resort will be a Disney Vacation Club resort. We can expect it to be a Deluxe Resort and should have similar qualities and perks as others like it.

The Room Designs
When Reflections was originally announced, this resort was set to have more than 900 rooms. In the original concept art, we saw some of these cabin-like rooms that appear to be up in the trees. We could see these, but they could have changed since the pivot to a different resort name. We are likely to see villa rooms as it is a DVC resort.

Opening Date
This new Disney Vacation Club resort is set to open in 2027, although no exact date has been announced. With just two years away, we are already seeing a lot of construction.

I hope this will not be a limited service “Deluxe” hotel like the new Tower at the Polynesian Resort. By that, I mean no valet parking, no bell service, no gift shop, no advance-reservation dining, and no grab-and-go food court.
