Does Disney’s New Character Announcement Mean a Major CHANGE Is Coming to Galaxy’s Edge?

Disney just dropped some MAJOR news for Star Wars fans!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Disneyland Park’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opened to guests back in 2019. The land is set on the Star Wars planet of Batuu, and up to this point, the storytelling was limited to the time period between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker — the last two films in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. But things are about to get a shake-up on Batuu!

Since the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, the land has held to the canonical Star Wars universe timeline. That means characters that are dead in-universe by the time of The Last Jedi have been unable to appear in Galaxy’s Edge up to this point. This includes major characters from the original series like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Padme Amidala, and more.

But Disneyland just dropped an announcement that changes everything in Galaxy’s Edge — a young Luke Skywalker meet-and-greet character will appear during Disneyland’s Season of the Force event from March 28th to May 11th.

Now that Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland has officially decided to deviate from the initial storytelling timeline, that opens the door for other characters from the original series to potentially appear in the future as well.
