Disney Drops Ranking in NEW Survey on Most Admired Companies

For the second year in a row, Disney has taken a tumble in Fortune’s influential ranking of the world’s most admired companies.

According to Fortune, the list uses information gleaned from a poll of thousands of executives, directors, and analysts in the business world to highlight organizations most respected by their peers.” These rankings signify “financial stability, innovation, respected leadership, and expansion of global businesses” which is why it might be concerning to Disney that they’ve fallen into a TIE for #13 in the 2025 list.

Disney, who came it at #12 on last year’s list, fell one spot into a tie with with Marriott International in this year’s installment. The two companies are sandwiched between Coca Cola at #12 and Netflix at #15.

According to the list, the Top 10 Most Admired Companies are as follows:

  1. Apple (On top for the 18th year in a row!)
  2. Microsoft
  3. Amazon
  4. Nvidia
  5. Berkshire Hathaway
  6. Costco Wholesale
  7. JPMorgan Chase
  8. Walmart

The ranking represents a steep and quick fall for Disney, who were once a stalwart in the Top 10. The company was #4 in both 2020 and 2021, #5 in 2022, and #6 in 2023 before falling out of the Top 10 in 2024.

According to Laura Manson-Smith, the global leader of organization strategy consulting at Korn Ferry, whom Fortune partners with to produce the list, ”The world’s most admired companies don’t earn their ranking through financial results alone. They also get there through the reputation of their leadership, their ability to attract and retain top talent, and a strong culture. The best strategy on paper is worth nothing without an engaged and skilled workforce to make it happen.”

Disney’s reputation has taken a hit despite crowds continuing to pack their theme parks.
