Disney Cruise Line Just Canceled Our Upcoming Cruise. Here's Why.

Are you getting ready to set sail with Disney Cruise Line soon?

You have plenty to look forward to, regardless of which ship you choose. There’s rotational dining, which lets you eat in a different restaurant each night of your voyage. There’s special entertainment, including fireworks at sea, as well as fun attractions, like Aqua Mouse. If you’ve booked a Disney Cruise, though, you might want to check your email: some cruises are being canceled.

We received an email from Disney Cruise Line about an upcoming cruise on the Disney Fantasy. So here’s some background information: Disney ships go through a dry dock every few years for maintenance. The email informed us that an “unplanned change in the scheduled dry dock dates for the Disney Fantasy” has created a situation where our sailing is no longer available and that our reservation for the cruise was canceled.

As a result, the payment we had put towards the cruise has been refunded. We were also offered the opportunity to reschedule our sailing around the same time frame, including a sailing on a revised cruise and other available cruises. In addition to the refund, Disney is also offering each guest affected by this cancellation a 20% discount on future cruises.
