We Have Some Bad News About Disney’s New Haunted Mansion Lounge

The Haunted Mansion bar was a hit on the Disney Treasure!

There was so much to see and do onboard Disney’s newest cruise ship like checking out the Jungle Cruise-inspired bar, the Oceaneer Club for kids, and so much more. The one thing we think we were all waiting on pins and needles for was the Haunted Mansion Lounge!

The Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure was one of the most popular spots when we hopped on the boat earlier this month. It had so many nods to the classic Disney attraction and we couldn’t love the atmosphere more.

Thanks to the shifting portraits, ghostly gatherings, and singing sirens, we could have sat in this lounge for our entire cruise. It was dark and perfectly haunting, just the right vibes for a haunted parlor.  While we might be singing the praises of the vibes, the drinks were somewhat…disappointing.

The menu!

We tried several of the most spooky sips we could so let’s break em’ down. First, we started with The Chiling Challenge for $20. It was made with 818 Añejo Tequila, cointreau noir, blood orange, sour cherry, and lime salt air foam.

The Chilling Challenge!

The presentation on this one was amazing and it’s the only way you can get a Death Certificate in the parlor.  Next up is the Happily Never After! It has Grey Goose, Chambord, lemon, apple, and black cherry for $15. This one was sweet but not sickeningly sweet which was nice. However, it wasn’t balanced correctly.

Happily Never After

The main flavor was the Chambord and the blackberry and it seemed to be missing more of a lemon flavor. We also didn’t get any of the apple flavor because it was masked by the raspberry in the Chambord which was a bit syrupy.

A closer look.

The Final Vow came next with Código Artesanal Mezcal, amaretto, strawberry, mango, lime, and hot sauce. It can be served in the souvenir Captain’s Bride ceramic tiki mug for $50 but we requested no mug.

The Final Vow

This one was so weird but so good! It was like a cross between a bloody mary and strawberry jello. It has lots of body and was perfectly smokey thanks to the mezcal. It wasn’t spicy but had just a bit of heat which we really enjoyed. It was probably our favorite from the entire bar.  The Last Catch was next with Old Forester Statesman, Monin Rose, mango, marigold, lime, and pineapple also served in a tiki mug for $60.

The tiki mugs!

This drink was much more balanced than some of the others and it wasn’t too sweet. There was a lack of bourbon flavor which could be a bit dangerous for some but the rest of the fruity flavors really won out. We expected a bit of flower flavor from the marigold but it was lacking. Overall, we would get this one again which is saying something at this spot.

A look at the bar!

The Regions Beyond was next on the list. It was made up of absolut raspberry, blue curacao, bubble gum, cream, and black cherry for $15.

Regions Beyond Drink

It was good but lacking a bit. The blue curacao was heavy on the syrupy side. The raspberry and black cherry flavors were prominent and while that might be great for some people, it wasn’t for us. This one landed on our not-recommended list.  The Spirits Have Been Released was on the secret menu drink for two and was a pretty exciting puzzle to solve!

Solve the puzzle!

The puzzle is where the fun ended with this one. It was St. George Gin, Screaming Soda, blackberry, and blueberry on one side. The other side had Five Trail Blended Whisky with sour shivers lemonade and orange. Together this was $30 and frankly, we hated it. The two drinks had a very strange taste with the gin-based one reminding us of a really bad sickly sweet and florally cupcake.

It was just weird.

The other side had a very unfortunate licorice vibe and while that might be good for some people, it wasn’t for us. It wasn’t all alcohol though! There were several Zero Proof options as well as mocktails to test out.  First in this lineup, was the Sympathetic Vibrations. It had Zero-Proof Lyre’s Agave Blanco, Lyre’s Orange Sec, blood orange, cherry sour, and lime salt foam for $15.

Sympathetic Libations

This was one of our favorite drinks on the entire ship! The undertones were nice and fruity with a bit of tartness. We don’t mind a bit of a sour drink and we loved this zero-proof option. We also tried the Ghostly Retreat with creepy crawly cola, grenadine, black cherry, and eyeball gummies. It’s served with a glow cube for $8.

I love how red it is!

This one was sorta like a cherry cola in our eyes. It reminded us of a Coke Zero with some cherry flavor. Nothing crazy or exciting but the gummy eyeball adds some fun although we wouldn’t get it again. The Ghoulish Delight came next. It was comprised of ube condensed milk, oat milk, tapioca pearl, ube wanderdust shimmer, and an eyeball gummy for $7.50.

So scary!

This was another favorite on this list. It was super heavy on the ube flavor meaning we got a bit of the vanilla and nuttiness from it. We highly recommend you mix those syrups because the drink was much improved after we mixed ours. It’s thin but still creamy. If these drinks aren’t for you, you can also grab a soda for $5. They have the Grim Grinning Grape which we tried first.

Sodas please!

This one had a very artificial grape flavor and was very flat with little to no carbonation. Screaming Soda was next and this one felt like a personal attack on us. It was overly sweet and was reminiscent of cake batter.

Screaming!

The Creepy Crawly Cola reminded us of a Coke Zero or zero sugar drink which isn’t our personal preference.

Toads in a pond…

Finally, we had the Sour Shivers Lemonade and this one was another disappointment. The lemonade flavor was still syrupy sweet and was one that we knew would make us feel gross if we had too much of it.

Sour Shivers Lemonade

Although the sodas looked fun, they fell flat on taste. So overall the ghosts were making sure that the bar atmosphere was amazing but they might need some help with the drinks. Don’t forget to keep following AllEars.Net for all of our Disney cruise reviews and news!
