6 Reasons Why You SHOULD Stay at a Disney World Hotel in 2025

Disney hotels definitely have their advantages.

Pop Century

On-property hotels have been a major part of the Disney World experience literally since day one, as the Contemporary and Polynesian Village resorts opened with the Vacation Kingdom back in 1971. As we approach Disney World’s 64th birthday, the resort has blossomed from these two hotels to a sprawling network of over nearly 30 themed properties for you to choose from when planning a 2025 visit. While there is a case to be made about staying off-property, there are 6 big reasons to book a Disney World hotel if you’re making a pilgrimage to the “Most Magical Place on Earth” next year.

Transportation

We’re starting here because transportation has been a major advantage of staying at Walt Disney World from the very start. Every hotel on property is serviced by at least one part of the resort’s complimentary transportation infrastructure, be it the fleet of buses, boats, the Monorail, the Skyliner, or a combination of the above.

The Water Park Ticket Deal

Now we transition from one of Walt Disney World’s oldest hotel perks to one of its newest. Beginning on January 1st, 2025 and extending through the year, guests with a Disney World hotel reservation will receive admission to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park (whichever is open in the seasonal rotation) for all members of their party the day they check in to their hotel.

Closures & Construction

2025 is going to see a great deal of construction and closures at Walt Disney World, Test Track and Kali River Rapids are scheduled to be closed through at least the early part of the year, while Big Thunder Mountain will be closed for nearly the entirety of 2025. Therefore, it could be beneficial to stay at Disney hotels, most of which offered themed experiences comparable to the theme parks themselves.

Early Entry/Extended Evening Hours

Disney World hotel guests are eligible for both Early Entry (which allows guests to enter 30 minutes early and gives them a head start on accessing “select attractions, shops and dining before regular hours”) and Extended Evening Hours (which gives hotel guests access to select attractions, shops and dining after regular park hours). Combined, these perks – – which alternate between parks subject to availability – – allow guests to arrive earlier and stay later to maximize their time in the parks.

Purchase Lightning Lanes Earlier

As per the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass system introduced this year, Walt Disney World hotel guests can reserve their Lightning Lanes starting 7 days before the first day of their Resort stay, for their length of stay (up to 14 days), which is 4 days earlier than those not staying on staying on Disney property.
