Few theme park lands are as immersive as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando — which is why we’re so excited for the Epic Universe Ministry of Magic expansion.
Universal has said that we’ll be able to “discover a different era of the wizarding world in an all-new land that blends 1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.” And, we think we may have spotted a clue about a new show potentially coming to this new land.
The new park will feature five worlds waiting to be discovered — Celestial Park, Dark Universe, Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, and How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. Each world will be incredibly immersive with new rides, restaurants, shopping, and more.
But, folks seem to particularly be excited about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic (hi, it’s us, we’re “folks!”) and we certainly don’t blame them. So far, we know there will be an incredible attraction, dining, and shopping, but we don’t have a whole lot of details other than that.
However, we may have found a clue that a new stage show will be coming to the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe, too.
We stumbled upon a casting call notice for clarinet, trumpet, and trombone players for a “brand-new theme park show” in Orlando from Villa Creative. Those auditioning should have a “Command of commercial and jazz styles, stage presence, and ability to speak with a French accent.”
We know what you’re thinking, “What does this have to do with the Ministry of Magic land at Epic Universe?” Well, the new area will combine “1920s wizarding Paris from Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films with the iconic British Ministry of Magic from the Harry Potter series.” It’s possible this new show could be part of the 1920s Paris part of this land.
And, when looking into the casting call further, the audition requests some pretty specific things for folks to do in their submissions. Those auditioning should include which Harry Potter house they would be in, and there is a portion where auditioners are asked to demonstrate their character ability and stage presence while speaking with a French accent.
The following lines are listed as examples of what to say:
- “I once enchanted an exquisite [your instrument] to play like me, but it nearly fell in love with itself! A tragic tale, yes. But…such is the cost of perfection.”
- “Yes, my enchanted [your instrument] does turn its own pages. And it refuses to play anything but Debussy! What can I say? It has taste!”
- “We have a few songs that you might find…enchanting to the ear. Symphonies that seem supernatural. Arrangements that are…well, I can’t think of an ‘A’ word for that one, but the arrangements are quite good too!”
Enchanted instruments? French accents? Harry Potter houses?! We don’t know about you, but it certainly sounds like Villa Creative could be looking for musicians to play in a new show at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic.
