Are you a Disney World hotel expert?
Whether you are a seasoned vet or a newbie when it comes to Disney World hotels, there’s no such thing as too many hotel tips. Between learning the ins and outs of the resorts and how to find the best deals, collecting knowledge on the Disney World hotels is vital to having a successful Disney trip. One thing you should especially be familiar with before your trip is hotel parking.
Whether you’re a hotel pro or about to embark on your first Disney World vacation, hotel parking can get somewhat confusing. In fact, there’s one catch that trips us up from time to time.
If you plan to hop around hotels during your next vacation, be warned that you’ll likely have trouble with hotel parking and will need to utilize Disney World transportation.
A lot of the time, you can’t just park at a Disney World hotel unless you’re staying there or have a dining reservation.
Depending on the season, you may sometimes be able to park at the resorts when you let security know your intentions, such as dining, shopping, or entertainment. However, when it’s busy and parking is tough to come by, you might be turned away without some sort of reservation.
When you can’t park at a Disney World hotel, your best bet is parking at and using the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC). The TTC is the central hub for most Disney World free transportation and will get you to the hotel you need to be at.
The downside here is that you’re likely waiting on a ferry or monorail to get where you need to go, expanding your travel time greatly. Unfortunately, this is likely your best bet when hotel parking just isn’t doable.

We recently returned from a Disney cruise WDW hotel combo for our 50th anniversary. I never had problems in the past getting into the hotel parking lots. They gave you a hotel ID for the car and I thought your room card opened any gate on property. My daughters family stayed at the Carribean Beach and we stayed at the Beach Club. The first night I went to pick them up for dinner at Disney Springs using the outside gate using my hotel card. Wrong. The security guard was rude. Finally let me in. Next morning went over to pick them up again at the Carribean another guard gave me a hard time. He thought I was mixing the hotels up and was in the wrong place. He couldn’t believe we were staying in different hotels. I just wanted to bring them back to the Beach so we could go Epcot together. Next day I went pick them up again to go to the MGK but this time he actually asked for my daughters name and room #. That’s what the other Two guards should have done instead of interegating me. Then finally when we went to Ohana’s for breakfast he just needed our reservation #. Yes there were complications this time. My Minnieovan with seating for 8 was the best option for getting around with only three days at WDW. The security guards at Disney need to be more consistent with there rules.
