Disney World recently introduced a new way to skip the lines at attractions around the parks. But this new option isn’t cheap.

The new option is called Lightning Lane Premier Pass, and it debuted on October 30th, 2024. Passes cost several hundred dollars each and give you access to the express line, a.k.a. the “Lightning Lane” at each Disney attraction in a park. Now, Disney has updated the rules to expand the availability of Premier Passes. Let’s take a look.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows you one-time entry to each Lightning Lane at attractions in a single theme park per day. The big bonus is that you have the flexibility to use it at any time — there’s no need to reserve a time slot in advance. Note that there is no Park Hopper option for Premier Pass at Disney World.

When it debuted, Lightning Lane Premier Pass was exclusively available to those staying at Deluxe Resorts or Deluxe Villa Resorts (Disney Vacation Club Resorts). Now, Disney has updated the rules and expanded the eligible resort hotels. Those staying at ALL Disney Resort hotels have the option to purchase a Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

As a reminder, these passes are not cheap and can sell out. On November 25th, for example, the price for Lightning Lane Premier Pass for Magic Kingdom was $379 per person. It is currently listed as “sold out.”

Unlike Disney World’s other Lightning Lane options — Multi Pass and Single Pass — you can NOT park hop with Premier Pass and can only purchase it for one park per day.

We’ll continue to monitor the latest Lightning Lane Premier Pass updates and more news from Disney World. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
