4 Secrets HIDING in the New Concept Art of Disney World’s Pirate Lounge

There are so many new and exciting projects coming to Disney World in 2025!

Magic Kingdom

We will likely see many construction walls around all the parks as work begins on the Tropical Americas-themed land, Villains Land, and the Cars expansion. While these projects will take years to build, tons of exciting offerings will be available starting next year. Test Track 3.0, along with a new Spaceship Earth Lounge, is set to open in EPCOT in 2025.

It was announced that Zootopia: Better Zoogether, which is replacing It’s Tough to be a Bug! in Animal Kingdom, will open in the winter of 2025. Hollywood Studios will be home to two brand new stage shows, including The Little Mermaid – A Musical Spectacular and a Disney Villains show. Magic Kingdom will be home to a new nighttime parade called Disney Starlight. But that is not all that is coming to Magic Kingdom in 2025. A new pirate tavern based on Pirates of the Caribbean is set to open, and we have a look at some new concept art.

This brand-new lounge will be a first-of-its-kind experience and will help “extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.” We have known about this new tavern for quite some time, and Disney has confirmed that it will open in 2025. While we do not know the exact date or location, we can assume it will open in Adventureland. We have speculated that it would take the place of Tortuga Tavern, which temporarily turned into a gift shop called Tortuga Treasures. But alas, this is just speculation.

Disney has continued to peel back the curtain with different concept art. This concept art was originally released last year at Destination D23.

At D23 in August, when Disney announced that the tavern would open in 2025, we saw some more detailed concert art. Look how cool the anchor chandelier is!

And now we have a third piece of concept art to analyze! We are not sure if this will be an additional space to the concept art from above that was released in August or if this is a whole new rendering of the space.

Let’s take a look at some details! Right off the bat, our eyes were drawn to this skull mug. It kind of reminds us of the specialty mugs that can be found at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Currently, alcohol is only served at certain table service restaurants across Magic Kingdom. We have a theory that the pirate lounge will be available for Advance Dining Reservations like Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios to help justify serving alcohol. While it is not confirmed, we think this mug indicates that there is a pretty good chance that alcohol will be available in the lounge when it opens. As Redd says, “The gentleman wants the rum, don’t ya boys!”

We also noticed something hiding on the fireplace. If you look closely, you will see the East India Trading Company logo, which is a nod to the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.

Disney loves to hide references in artwork, and we have noticed plenty of pictures on the walls. Could these be interactive pieces of artwork?

While we knew the tavern would serve light bites, we noticed someone being served something on a plate, which we think is a good indication that the tavern will still serve some sort of food.

We can’t wait to visit the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern when it opens in Magic Kingdom in 2025. We will keep an eye out for any news regarding this brand-new lounge as well as any news about all the new projects coming across all four parks in 2025, so make sure to continue to follow along with AllEars!
