Disney World's Jollywood Nights Has CHANGED - Should You Go This Year?

Merry Christmas to all! Christmas trees and garlands have appeared all across the resort, and our reporters dressed in their holiday best for the first night of this year’s Disney Jollywood Nights!

This is the second year for the event, and we stopped by to experience everything the event has to offer to help you and your family decide if a ticket to Jollywood Nights is worth the price tag.

What IS Jollywood Nights?

Disney Jollywood Nights is a separately ticketed event that is happening for thirteen nights between November 9th through December 21st, 2024. The event takes place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and features a large selection of entertainment offerings, exclusive character meet and greets, themed food and beverage, and more.

The event takes place on select nights from 7:30PM until 12:30AM. With a ticket to the event, you can get into Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning at 6PM, which means that you could have up to 6 1/2 hours in the park.

How Much Does It Cost?

Tickets for the event range in price depending on the date, but you will find yourself spending between $159 to $179 per ticket. Is the event worth the price tag? We are on a mission to find out!

But how does that compare to other similar offerings in terms of price? For reference, tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom cost between $169 and $219. One-day tickets for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, cost between $169 and $184 for the dates of November 9th through December 21st.

So you could go to Jollywood Nights for a little cheaper than you might do a full day in the park or a night at Very Merry, although you’ll get less time overall. (Very Merry offers 7 hours of park access for ticket holders.)

What Does Jollywood Nights Offer?

Now let’s take a look at what the event offers guests! Jollywood Nights has a large list of entertainment offerings that you can check out. You can watch international champion skaters in a new show called Glisten — A Skating Spectacular. You can also enjoy a holiday variety show hosted by Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, Holidays in Hollywood. There is also a sing-along called What’s This? Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Sing-Along and the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! fireworks spectacular.

That is not all though, you can also check out a throwback bash at Echo Lake, a dance party in Pixar Plaza, Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby, the Twilight Soirée at the Tip Top Club, and Holiday Fiesta en la Calle.

Throughout the evening, you can also meet more than 20 rare characters. Some of these characters include Santa Stitch, Max Goof as Powerline, The Mandalorian, Lotso, and Baloo. As well, you can purchase a variety of themed food and beverages and shop exclusive merchandise.

Select attractions are also open during the event and you can enjoy them with low wait times. Some of the park’s most popular attractions are available to ride such as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Slinky Dog Dash, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

There is a lot to check out at Jollywood Nights, and unless you’re the Energizer Bunny, you likely won’t be able to see and do every single thing at the event. However, the question becomes — is there enough stuff that you really want to do to make the price tag worth it?

While we wish we could give you the answer to whether the event is worth the price tag, the answer will be different for each person.

Is Jollywood Nights Worth It?

To answer this question, we’ll start with the list of people for whom Jollywood Nights is most likely to be worth the cost. If you’re a Disney fan interested in exclusive entertainment, snacks, or character meets, then this event was MADE for you.

Several of the shows, character meets, and snacks available during Jollywood Nights are exclusive to the event, and if you’re hoping to get your money’s worth by enjoying exclusive offerings, then you could probably justify your ticket.

Also, if you’re a fan of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party but you want to try something new and different, this might be a good option for your group. It has a fairly different vibe overall, but you can still dress up and party all night!

Jollywood Nights may also be a good value for those who want to hit the rides in the park, but don’t have time for a full park day. The wait times were relatively low during the event, so you might be able to knock out a few things that typically have long lines.

So what about the other side of the coin? Well, Jollywood Nights might not be for you if you’ve got a family full of little kids. There are a few offerings that your young ones will enjoy — like the Pixar-themed dance party and the Glisten ice skating show, but Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party definitely has more offerings geared to children.

If you’re hoping for some of the iconic offerings that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has, like a parade or free cookies and cocoa, you also might be a bit disappointed with Jollywood Nights. This event leans a bit more heavily on stage shows and character meets, so if those aren’t your thing, you might not find the value.
