There has been a lot to report during hurricane season this year.
Not only did we have both Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene in the Atlantic, but we’ve seen several smaller storms throughout the past few months. We like to keep a close eye on the weather predictions in case there’s anything that could impact the U.S., and now we’ve got news about a tropical storm.
A few days ago, the National Hurricane Center was keeping watch on three developing systems. Now, one of those has become Tropical Storm Rafael, and it’s heading for Florida.
Tropical Storm Rafael is currently getting “better organized” as the center of the storm passes over Jamaica. Predictions show the storm heading for the Florida Keys.
Rafael is expected to be near hurricane intensity when it passes over the Cayman Islands tonight. Those in that area can expecting damaging hurricane-force winds, storm surge, and heavy rainfall. Jamaica can expect tropical storm conditions on the evening of Tuesday, November 5th, and the same goes for the Florida Keys on Wednesday.
It’s too soon to determine possible impacts for residents of the Gulf Coast, but we’ll keep you updated as the storm continues to move. If you’re in an area of projected impact, make sure to stay tuned to the news and weather to learn about any updates.
