The holiday season is right around the corner, and Disney World is getting ready to celebrate.

The holidays at Disney World can be so magical. Soon after Halloween, Disney World will start decorating for the holidays, including giant Christmas trees and life-sized gingerbread houses. Plus, this year, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom and Jollywood Nights in Hollywood Studios are returning. Disney just announced that even more holiday offerings will be coming to the parks. Still, we are wondering why they missed out on the perfect opportunity to bring back a missing entertainment offering.
Disney announced that the popular Merry Menagerie will be returning to Animal Kingdom and new this year, you will finally be able to meet Santa Claus in the park! He will be meeting and greeting at Restaurantosaurus from November 12th to December 24th, which means we will get one more holiday season in DinoLand, U.S.A.!

New entertainment will also be coming to Hollywood Studios. Starting November 12th, three new entertainment acts will debut. There will be Juggling Elves, and Disney says that “these holiday helpers deliver festive cheer with a side of shenanigans as they show off their skills of juggling, comedy, and more!”

If you are a fan of live music, the Holiday Spirit Band will be playing Christmas tunes, and the Seasons Jukebox will “bring all the performance and pep of a collegiate marching band. Hard-hitting horns, rocking drummers, and dazzling dancers will bring to life everyone’s favorite holiday classics and more.”

One of the best aspects of Disney World is the live entertainment. The performer’s energy really makes you feel immersed in the parks, especially in Hollywood Studios.

We have noticed that some live entertainment has been cut since the pandemic, and Disneyland has also dealt with this issue as multiple performances were cut over the summer.

We think that Disney could have used these new holiday offerings as a way to phase back in the Citizens of Hollywood. They could have had them come out in their holiday finest along with these three new acts. But alas, there is still no word on whether the Citizens of Hollywood will return.

The last time we saw them was in 2022, when they helped cheer on runDisney racers during the part of the course that went through Hollywood Studios.

On the bright side, other holiday offerings are returning to Hollywood Studios, such as the holiday overlay for For the First Time In Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. And Santa will be meeting and greeting at It’s A Wonderful Shop and Sunset Seasons Greetings. Plus, there will be projections on the Hollywood Tower Hotel and snowfall on Sunset Boulevard.

Who knows, Disney may surprise us as this would be the perfect opportunity for the Citizens to make their triumphant return. Please, Disney, hear our calls; we miss all their fun interactions!
