Something NEW has come to Disneyland!
Disney is at their best when adding new touches to their theme parks, including the “Happiest Place on Earth” itself, Disneyland. Case in point, a few weeks ago, we told you about a NEW Alice in Wonderland-themed water fountain and refilling station that popped up in Fantasyland. This neat little design added a dash of magic to what is otherwise a mundane service element in a tucked-away corner of the park. Now, it seems to be a trend…
In recent days, we noticed Disney has added another themed water fountain, this time themed to Winnie the Pooh.
Located near Pooh Corner, naturally, in the area of Disneyland currently known as Critter Country (soon to be officially renamed Bayou Country when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens in November), the new fountain/refilling station is similar in design to its Alice-themed counterpart.
The blue fountain features a water bottle filling station in the center, with two water fountains at distinct heights — one roughly sized for adults and one for children — at its base. Thematically, the fountain features honey pots at the top, emblazoned with “h2Onny”, as well as honey “dripping” down the installation.
Winnie the Pooh has been a staple of this corner of Disneyland for a long time. During the late 1990s, Critter Country was home to a popular meet & greet with the characters from the Hundred Acre Woods. Then, in the early 2000s, a Disneyland version of Disney World’s popular Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh dark ride was opened in the area, replacing the West Coast version of Country Bear Jamboree. As evidenced by the new water fountain, Pooh will remain a fixture in this area of the park even after it transforms into Bayou Country.
Disney has added a second new themed water fountain and refilling station to Disneyland, this time connected to Winnie the Pooh. Stay tuned to AllEars as we keep our eyes peeled for any more of these potential theme installations.
