Disney World is known for getting a lot of rain in the summer months. It is Florida, after all!

With Florida’s warm, humid climate, rain is often a part of summer Disney World vacations. Additionally, Hurricane Season typically takes place from June 1st through November 30th, which extends well beyond summer. If you’re visiting Disney World at the end of next week, which officially brings us into fall, we’re here to warn you that you may want to prepare for some rain or a storm.
Local news affiliate WESH 2 shared that meteorologists are keeping a close watch on some low-pressure systems that appear to be forming in the Gulf of Mexico. They’re watching a few different trends, but since nothing has formed, it’s best to take these predictions with a grain of salt.

Currently, there is one disturbance listed at a 60 percent chance of cyclone formation over the next seven days. The system is expected to produce heavy rains over portions of Central America.

The National Hurricane Center shared that they’ll also be watching for possible low-pressure development over the northwestern Caribbean Sea. This system, which hasn’t quite developed yet, is likely to form by the early to
middle part of next week. Meteorologists predict a gradual
development of this system, noting that a tropical depression
could form soon.

Again, it’s too soon to say if this system will actually develop into a tropical storm or anything further, but it is something to keep in mind! Check out some of our posts below for navigating Disney World in the rain.
