EVERYBODY STAY CALM! (We say as we are anything but calm.)
We here at AllEars absolutely LOVE hearing about all the exciting animal conservation efforts happening at Animal Kingdom — that’s really what the park is all about! Part of those conservation efforts is attempting to boost the population of some animals that are going extinct out in the wild. We’ve seen many Animal Kingdom babies over the years, but Disney has just announced that ANOTHER will be coming soon!
Recently, Animal Kingdom Cast Members confirmed through an ultrasound that Sohni, their female tiger, is pregnant with a new bundle of stripes!
Sohni last gave birth to twin tigers Jeda and Anala back in August 2017. Since then, Jeda has relocated to the San Antonio Zoo as part of the Species Survival Plan in 2021.
This new pregnancy is so exciting, and Animal Kingdom caretakers are keeping a close eye on Sohni and the baby as the pregnancy continues. A tiger’s gestation period is typically around 3.5 months (93-112 days), so we could be seeing a new baby by the end of the year! For now, you can visit the Maharajah Jungle Trek to say congratulations to Sohni and Conrad, the male tiger (and soon-to-be Dad) who arrived at the park in 2022.
