IT’S OFFICIAL – Disney Demolished a Popular Restaurant Seating Area in Hollywood Studios

We’ve known since D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August that things in the Disney World parks are getting ready to change quite a bit.

Hollywood Studios

Magic Kingdom is getting Villains Land, and a Cars Land is replacing Tom Sawyer Island. Tropical Americas is officially replacing DinoLand U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios is getting a new Monsters Inc. Land AND a new Villains show replacing Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy, and that’s just the beginning of it all. However, nothing on that list impacts Toy Story Land (to our knowledge), so Disney, why did you just demolish THIS restaurant seating area?

We wish we were kidding, but we’re not. Recently, we visited Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land, and noticed something interesting. The nearby seating area has been closed for the past few days, and now we know why.

We were able to catch a glimpse and WHOA. IT’S GONE. Yes, a large portion of the seating area for Woody’s Lunchbox has been demolished.

Uh…whoa

The ground has been razed. Don’t worry, though! Woody’s Lunch Box is still open for business. You can also catch a glimpse of the construction from this angle as well.

You can still dine here!

A makeshift seating area has also been set up for people to dine closer to Galaxy’s Edge, although this area is even smaller than the original (which is saying something since that seating area wasn’t very large). We’ve long talked about how the seating for this popular spot is almost all in the sun and has been desperately in need of more tables for a while. Maybe that’s what Disney is setting out to accomplish?

And perhaps this construction will finally tell us what’s going on with THIS mysterious wall that’s been near the exit of Toy Story Mania for far longer than we ever expected. Are we getting even MORE seating? It’s certainly something Toy Story Land would benefit from!

What in the world is happening over here?
