Disney World closes rides from time to time for normal refurbishment, while other times they get closed for BIG overhauls.

Disney World

This week, September 15th through September 22nd, two popular rides will continue to be closed. One of these rides is for a routine refurbishment, while the other is a complete overhaul of the ride. You’ll also find other Disney World attractions and restaurants closed! Keep reading to find out what closures will affect your upcoming vacation.

Jungle Cruise

It’s no joke, the Jungle Cruise closed in Magic Kingdom on August 26th!

The ride will be temporarily closed until October 16th. We’ll miss this punny ride while it’s closed! If you’re missing the Skippers as much as us, you can always visit them at Skipper Canteen in Magic Kingdom or at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. A trip to Magic Kingdom just isn’t the same without those silly Skipper jokes!

Test Track

Test Track closed on June 17th and we don’t have any information about its reopening date or timeline yet.  The ride is being reimagined! Disney recently released more details and announced that the ride will reopen in 2025!

We know that the ride will continue to be a partnership with Chevrolet and that they will be taking some inspiration from the original ride World of Motion.

Magic Kingdom

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade

The opening day attraction, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, officially closed on June 23rd.

The Shooting Gallery is closed for good.

This closure is to make room for a new DVC lounge that will soon be coming to Frontierland. This will be the third DVC lounge in Disney World, but we don’t have an opening date, yet.

Tomorrowland Terrace

Tomorrowland Terrace is a restaurant in Magic Kingdom that has usually only been open occasionally, generally during particularly busy seasons. However, it’s been a LONG time since we’ve seen this spot open at all.

Tomorrowland Terrace

Currently, it’s only used for Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert parties, and there’s no word on when it might serve food again.
