There are about to be even more ways to get to Orlando.
Thanks to massive tourist attractions like Disney World and the Universal Orlando Resort, Orlando is one the world’s largest — and most jam-packed — tourist destinations, with Orlando International Airport (MCO) being one of the busiest in the world. Now, one of America’s most popular budget airlines is adding two new flights to Orlando from two of the country’s busiest metropolitan areas.
Frontier Airlines has announced that two new routes are opening this fall: One between MCO and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport which begins on October 27th, and one between MCO and Virginia’s Washington Dulles International Airport which begins November 14th.
These new Orlando routes will only grow Frontier’s already large share of passengers moving through MCO. According to the Orlando Business Journal, Frontier was “the fourth-largest airline flying into the Orlando airport by passenger share during calendar year 2023, with 7.11 million total passengers — or a 12.32% share.”
The new flights, the latter of which marks the carrier’s return to Dulles since the COVID Pandemic, are part of a larger initiative of Frontier expansion this fall. Between October and November, the airline is adding 11 new routes across 15 airports.
Josh Flyr, Frontier’s Vice President of Network and Operations Design for Frontier Airlines, said in a statement, “As consumers look ahead to the fall and winter months and make their holiday plans, we are thrilled to once again expand our roster of convenient and affordable travel options. From warm weather destinations such as Southern California, Texas and Florida or winter sports meccas Utah and Colorado, to popular metropolitan areas like New York, Atlanta and Washington, D.C., there are now even more exciting destinations to choose from when flying Frontier.”
Frontier Airlines is launching two new routes into Orlando from New York City and Washington D.C. as part of a larger expansion plan this fall. Stay tuned to AllEars for further travel industry updates.
