So, we all love Disney World, but it has definitely been the source of a debate or two over the years, right?

Fans have debated over all sorts of things like what is the best ride, snack, and even Disney World hotel. Those are all well and good, but there’s a particular debate that has been going on forever and we wanted to find out your thoughts on the matter. Basically, we’re talking about if it’s okay to save someone’s place or if it’s skipping. Well, we asked, and you delivered!
We reached out to our followers on Facebook to ask: “Let’s settle a debate:
Is it okay to save someone a spot in line after having to use the restroom, or is that TOTALLY skipping??” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!

For the most part, the responses in this poll question were divided into two camps — Totally OK and OK with an asterisk. Now, let’s go over some of your top responses!
Totally OK (Not skipping)
First up, the first group of you have strong feelings about how it’s totally okay to save someone a spot in line after having to use the restroom at Disney World.

Here are some of the things you shared:
- “I personally think it’s ok. I would rather someone not soil themselves over fear of unreasonable people.”
- “It’s totally ok with me. As I see it I am still able to ride the ride and it doesn’t matter if I have to wait a little longer or not I am getting on and that’s all that matters. I am still able to have a magical time.”
- “24 hours from now it won’t matter to anyone you passed. So everyone should let it go.”
- “That’s fine. It’s better than having a puddle to move up to in your next spot in line. ? Or even worse…a wet seat to sit in when it’s not a water ride! ?”
- “I have no problem with it. People need to stop being so triggered. It’s Disney and I’m there for a good time. It’s happened to me so many times and set me back a whole 2 minutes (maybe). I even had a group join (I counted 19) and it didn’t make a big difference.”
- “I’d rather have them save a spot in line than have them pee while in line. I keep reading posts about people seeing parents let their kids pee right there because they don’t want to lose their spot ?”
- “I don’t care at all, we will all get on the ride eventually I’m just stoked to be on vacation at Disney!”

You make a good argument that at the end of the day, waiting a few more minutes to get on a ride is totally ok if it allows someone to keep their dignity, especially since we’re all on vacation and just trying to have a good time together.
It’s OK*
Lastly, the next largest group also has strong feelings about it being okay to save someone a spot in line after having to use the restroom at Disney World provided it is only for 1 or 2 people max.

Here’s what you said:
- “1 person unless it’s a parent and a child is fine, not big groups. They were probably on another ride.”
- “If it’s 1 person, or a parent and child, I think this is fine. What bothers me is when you have a group of people catching up with the rest of their party in line. Then I feel they all should have just waited and gotten in line together.”
- “Totally ok! One or two people, like a parent and a child or one adult yes but, no to a large group with one person waiting in line”
- “If one person (or a person and a kid) has to get out of line because of a bathroom emergency, no problem. We have all had Pecos Bill’s hit the stomach while you are waiting for Pirates. But everybody should get in line together once everyone is out of the bathroom – none of this nonsense where one person holds a spot for a bunch of people.”
- “If they were already in line and then had to leave to use the restroom because of a long wait (or a small child) then that is ok. But if you are not already in line and the rest of your party gets in and then you go and find them in line, that is line jumping.”

Listen, I think we have all had that experience where an entire tour group’s worth of people jump into line ahead of us after we’ve waited for an hour+. Let’s just say that isn’t the most fun. At the same time, we can agree with you that it’s okay to have 1 or 2 people (at the most) who were already in line to leave and come back because of the need to use the bathroom. Sounds like an easy way for all of us to have a good time and let people save face when a bathroom emergency happens.
