The 2024 Event Guide will detail all of the Disney Springs locations that are participating in the Flavors of Florida event. Not only will it list the locations and menu items, but the guide also contains photos of each of the items. There are over 40 dining locations participating this year with more than 80 food and drink items. That is a lot to choose from!

This year’s event will also include pairing events and a seek & find game series. The seek & find game will give participants the opportunity to learn the background of Disney Springs.

The event runs from July 1st through August 11th, but we had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at some of the menu items during a media event for Flavors of Florida.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

From Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ we got to try two different dishes. The first one was the Tampa-style Cuban Sandwich which is house-smoked pork, shaved country ham, house-made pickles, yellow mustard and Swiss cheese pressed between slices of fresh Cuban bread.

Tampa-Style Cuban Sandwich

Overall, we enjoyed this dish. The bread had lots of char to it which was the most prominent flavor we tasted. The mustard does add a strong bitter note to the sandwich, and we could also taste the house-made pickles. We couldn’t easily distinguish between the pork and ham as the flavors blended together. While we probably wouldn’t come for just this dish, we still enjoyed it!

Next, we tried the Dragon Fruit Mojito which was Bacardi Light Rum, dragon fruit, prickly pear simple syrup and fresh mint.

Dragon Fruit Mojito

This was a light drink that was easy to drink. The rum is not a strong flavor, but the dragon fruit and prickly pear flavors really shine. The carbonation is light, and we thought the drink looked really pretty. If you love a fruit mojito, we think you will love this drink.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar

We also got to try some bites and drinks from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. We are starting off with the Orange Pilsner Goat Cheese Dip which is a whipped goat cheese with Sunshine Stroll Orange Pilsner and peppadew pepper, served with salt and vinegar house chips.

Orange Pilsner Goat Cheese Dip

This dip has a great, fresh taste thanks to the peppadew peppers. The dip has a slight kick to it, but nothing crazy spicy. We thought it was hard to taste the Sunshine Stroll Orange Pilsner unless you really thought about it, but overall, we really enjoyed the flavor. The salt and vinegar chips were a great complement to the pepper flavor in the dip.

We also tried out the Sunshine Stroll which is a locally brewed orange pilsner exclusive to Disney Springs featuring sweet and tangy flavors with a hint of citrus.

Sunshine Stroll

This beer is light and refreshing, with a hint of citrus flavor in the aftertaste. This would be an accessible beer even if you are not a huge beer drinker. There is a good amount of both bitter and sweet taste in this drink.

Morimoto Asia

Next up, we are trying some dishes from Morimoto Asia. We are starting with the Florida Key West Pink Shrimp Salad which is green tea-infused Japanese soba noodle, radish, carrot, cucumber, lettuce and ponzu sauce.

Florida Key West Pink Shrimp Salad

We thought the noodles were full of flavor and this dish had a wonderful brightness to it. There is so much variety in textures and flavors, yet the dish felt harmonious. We thought this one had the most citrus flavor and the shrimp was perfectly salted and soft.

We also got to try the Sparkling Shiso Orange which is a house made shiso orange shrub, yuzu and sparkling green tea.

Sparkling Shiso Orange

This drink is perfect to pair with the Florida Key West Pink Shrimp Salad. There is a lot of citrus flavor that works great with the salad. We would describe it as an unsweetened, carbonated lemonade.

The Daily Poutine

Finally, we are rounding out our sneak peek with a dish from The Daily Poutine. We got to try the St Augustine Datil BBQ Poutine which was crispy pork with datil pepper sauce, complemented by beer cheese sauce made with Sunshine Stroll Orange Pilsner, and Florida hearts of palm slaw.

St. Augustine Datil BBQ Poutine

These fries had a great balance of creaminess and freshness, and we thought the pork was well flavored. The pork had just the right amount of chewiness without being too tough. The beer cheese was really yummy and had a great thickness without being over the top with cheesiness.

Flavors of Florida 2023

In addition to the pairing events and seek & find game series, you’ll also get the chance to see some of the chefs behind your favorite Disney Springs restaurants participate in culinary demonstrations! This is a wonderful way to really see all the hard work that goes into creating these dishes.
