Magic Kingdom’s fireworks spectacular is missing for two days next month… for good reason.

Happily Ever After has been one of the most popular nighttime fireworks shows in Walt Disney World history since its May 2017 debut. In fact, the show was so beloved that after it was closed “forever” in September of 2001, fans continued to demand its return to the point that Disney brought it back in April of 2023. Suffice it to say, after that any time the show is missing from the Magic Kingdom calendar, people tend to grow concerned. However, in this case, there’s nothing to worry about.
Yes, there are two days early next month when Happily Ever After is missing from the Magic Kingdom’s event calendar. Would you like to venture a guess which two?

Yup, it’s July 3rd and 4th — the two days during which Walt Disney World will be staging a MASSIVE 4th of July fireworks display.

The show, entitled Disney’s Celebrate America since 2008, features sections celebrating America’s freedoms and cultural heritage, with the requisite massive amounts of pyrotechnics set to classics from the American songbook including “God Bless America”, “The Yankee Doodle Boy”, “America the Beautiful”, “This Land is Your Land” (Woody Guthrie),”Oh My Darling, Clementine”, “She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain”, “You’re a Grand Old Flag”, “Stars and Stripes Forever”, and “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Disney has officially confirmed that “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will light up the nighttime sky over Magic Kingdom Park with a booming nighttime spectacular” on July 3rd and 4th at 9:20PM. In addition, a simultaneous fireworks display will be staged over the Seven Seas Lagoon, creating an “unforgettable experience for guests in the park and nearby Magic Kingdom Resort Area hotels.” Happily Ever After is scheduled to return to its normal slot near the end of the Magic Kingdom’s operating day beginning on July 5th.

Fear not Happily Ever Fans, the show’s absence from two days on the calendar in early July has nothing to do with the show’s future, and everything to do with Disney celebrating America’s birthday. We’ll be on the lookout for more news from Disney World, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
