Disney World has some amazing table service restaurants, but sometimes we just want a burger.

We’ve had some pretty awful burgers in Disney World, and we’ve had some great ones, as well as some amazing burger-adjacent snacks, like Cheeseburger Pods and Cheeseburger Spring Rolls. However, one of the best burgers you can get in Disney World comes from D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs, and now, we have to share the SECRET about where one of those burger ingredients comes from.
What really makes D-Luxe Burger good, though, has a lot to do with the quality of the ingredients. You want good hamburger meat, as well as fresh vegetables and great bread for the buns. Well, we know where those delicious buns come from — and it’s from somewhere not too far away.

In fact, you don’t even have to leave Disney Springs to find the creator of those buns. That’s because it’s Amorette’s Patisserie, which is located in Disney Springs, too. Amorette’s might be known for its delicious sweet treats, including petit cakes and pastries, but this patisserie can also make a wickedly good bun.

Here’s another fun D-Luxe Burger fact: the restaurant has a whole backstory (this IS Disney, after all). Supposedly, it goes back to when the Sinclair family, who were ranchers, discovered a natural spring in 1850 (yep, the area we now call Disney Springs). They settled near the springs and founded Glowing Oak Ranch.

The oldest Sinclair son tasted a hamburger for the first time at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904. Inspired by that, the Sinclairs opened the Glowing Oak Restaurant, which was handed down from generation to generation and later became D-Luxe Burger. Inside, you’ll find loads of nods to this history.

One thing you’ll find inside is the original hand-written 1921 sauce recipe, too. So, if you want to recreate that sauce, here’s your chance.

In the back of the dining room, you can see the original Glowing Oak Ranch sign. Outside D-Luxe Burger, you’ll find a huge oak tree, under which the Sinclair Family hosted many campfires, hence the name “Glowing Oak.”

The more you know, right? Disney will always tell a story, even with something as simple as a hamburger and a hamburger restaurant. We can always appreciate that attention to detail. So the next time you visit D-Luxe Burger, be sure to have a look around. For dessert, you might want to pop over to the bun-maker, Amorette’s Patisserie, for a little sweet snack, too.
