There's a NEW Way to Get a FREE Southwest Airlines Companion Pass

We know a lot of our readers are big fans of Southwest Airlines — and we get it. Just the idea of being able to fly without having to pay for checked bags is a pretty good incentive, right?

Southwest also often offers some really good deals on airfare, as well as some great promotions. Well, a new promotion might just have you ready to book a trip to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii.

Southwest Airlines has announced a new promotion for its Rapid Rewards Members who book a round trip or two one-way flights in June or July 2024 between the U.S. mainland and Hawaii. Those who enroll in the promotion before May 24th and purchase eligible travel will get a FREE Companion Pass.

The Companion Pass will allow Rapid Rewards members to designate one person to fly with them FOR FREE every time they purchase a flight or redeem points for a flight through the pass’s validity date. Say what? So you can fly to Hawaii, and then make more trips after that and bring a friend along for free on future trips from October 5th through November 15th.

If that isn’t the universe telling you to go visit Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii, well, we don’t know what is. Southwest currently serves five airports in the Hawaiian Islands, so you have a lot of choices (but if you’re flying to Aulani, you’ll want to book a flight to Honolulu).

Also, it’s completely free to join Southwest’s Rapid Rewards program — all you have to do is visit the Southwest Airlines website to sign up. Then you can start earning points every time you fly Southwest. Southwest also offers a rewards credit card that you can use to earn even more points that you can use for future travel.

Be sure to book that flight to Hawaii by May 24th (aka TODAY) to grab the free Companion Pass deal, then you can decide on where you want to fly next (and bring someone along with you for free).
