Disney World Made a Controversial CHANGE to 1900 Park Fare — And We Love It!

1900 Park Fare has officially reopened as of April 10th!

This adorable character buffet at Disney’s Grand Floridian Hotel shut down in 2020 along with the rest of the Disney World resort, but unlike most other locations, it did not reopen. Until now, that is! Disney has officially opened those blue doors to diners once again but with a few changes. Where you could once dine with Mary Poppins, The Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh, and more, the characters you can meet now are slightly different (but not any less wonderful!). Let’s take a look at who we got to meet when we stopped by!

Disney shared that the restaurant is now inspired by wish-making characters such as Aladdin, Princess Tiana, Cinderella, and Mirabel. Their stories inspired the delicious food you can now try here like Tiana’s famous gumbo. When we visited for breakfast, we were so excited to see Tiana herself stop by to greet us! She’s wearing her new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure outfit here. After meeting her, we now want to make beignets with her.

But it wasn’t too long before Aladdin in his dashing Prince Ali outfit stopped by our table for a quick chat. Make way for Prince Ali! So we asked him to do a little twirl, but he told us he doesn’t twirl. But then he did the most amazing spin we’ve ever seen. Well done, Prince Ali!

It was enchanting getting to see Mirabel there as well! She was so much fun! We could see ourselves hanging out with her ALL the time.

Mirabel!

We even got a chance to hang out with Cinderella!

Speaking of wishes, we were given a card at the beginning of the meal to make our own wishes. Then there’s a wishing star ceremony where you hear Jiminy Cricket telling you that any wish can come true and you hold your wish card up. This was an incredibly moving experience — yes, we teared up a little bit.

We loved the energy and vibe of each of the characters because they bring something different from what we’ve seen from other character dining experiences.  We also loved watching how the characters changed how they interacted with adults and kids, so this one is satisfying for all age groups.

We know that there were a lot of concerns about the new characters here, but with the wish-making theme, it makes great sense. They bring a lot of spunk and personality.

We had so much fun at this stylish restaurant! The atmosphere was dazzling and the food was delicious. We hope you have an excellent experience if you’re stopping in for a bite.
