In Disney World, it’s a good rule of thumb to expect the unexpected.

Sometimes rides close down without warning (even with people still on the ride). Other times, the Disney World app malfunctions making it more difficult to go about your park day. Weather is a big factor that’s out of our control and it may impact your trip if you’re visiting Disney World tomorrow.
WESH 2 has reported that after seeing a quiet morning on January 9th, it is likely Central Florida will get severe weather in the afternoon and evening.

Part of Central Florida has been elevated to a level 3-5 risk for numerous strong to severe storms by the Storm Prediction Center. Orlando and Disney World are currently under level two, so the weather is not set to be as severe as other parts of the state.

What happens when severe weather hits Disney World? Well, you’ll definitely want to grab your rain gear if you plan on visiting the parks. As far as closures go, you should expect outdoor rides to close when lightning is in the area and it is likely that the fireworks shows will be canceled. Keep checking the My Disney Experience app for the latest updates on rides and shows.
