3 Ways Disney Christmas Cruises Are DIFFERENT Now

Ahoy sailors! Have you been keeping up with all the Disney Cruise Line news?

Disney Wish at Castaway Cay

The Disney Cruise Line has been sailing the high seas for over 25 years, and with that, change naturally happens over time. From new additions to the fleet to special novelties and events, the cruise ships have had a lot of news over the last few years. In fact, the changes have been extra noticeable this holiday season.

If you plan on taking a Disney cruise this holiday season, you should be ready for some changes. Here are three ways Disney’s Christmas cruises are different in 2023.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

On the Disney Dream, this cruise ship added a special Tree Lighting Ceremony!

It’s SANTA!

This ceremony takes place on the first night of all Very Merrytime cruises and features Mickey and friends in their best holiday attire as they lead a sing-a-long to classic holiday tunes. The room then fills with confetti as a countdown begins to the tree lighting up. Once the tree is lit, you may just get a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus!

Holiday Deck Show

The Disney Cruise Line has several deck shows on regular cruises, such as the Pirate Night show or Sailing Away Deck Party. However, this year Very Merrytime cruises are offering a brand new holiday show!

Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party

Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Party is a new (and very cute) deck show that features amazing singers and a cast of familiar characters. The party follows Mickey and friends as they cheer up Goofy, who is sad that Max can’t make it home for Christmas. The show is about family and friends, with a guest appearance at the end.

Mickey and Minnie Holiday Outfits

Part of the charm of a Disney cruise is the opportunity to meet some of your favorite characters. This year, during the holiday season, you not only get to meet these characters, but you can see them in their NEW holiday attire!

Merry Christmas!

Mickey and Minnie especially look dashing if we do say so ourselves! Be sure to check the Disney Navigator app for specific character meet-and-greet times when you are aboard the ship!
