As the winter holiday season is officially kicking off at Disney World this week (Hellooooo, Thanksgiving!), we’re already seeing proof that the CROWDS have arrived, too.

Of course, we expect this busy season each and every year the the holidays arrive, but that doesn’t make it any less shocking! On Monday, November 20th, we were greeted with the crowds and some HIGH prices. Let’s talk about it!
If you’re hoping to snag Genie+ at Disney World this winter, it’s important to keep in mind that the skip-the-line service operates based on surge pricing. Yep, that means the cost of Genie+ depends on the demand for the service — in other words: how many people are expected to be in the parks and ALSO purchasing the service.

Well, on November 20th, we saw Genie+ at the HIGHEST price we’ve seen it in months — at $35. Whew!

The last time we saw it at $35 was during the spring. BUT — Genie+ isn’t the only service with high demand. Individual Lightning Lanes on November 20th SOLD OUT at 9AM for Rise of the Resistance, Flight of Passage, and TRON: Lightcycle / Run.Â

So… What does all this mean? Well, for starters, you’ll probably want to budget a little more per family member if you’re hoping to purchase Genie+ throughout your holiday visit. If you don’t want to purchase Genie+ and are simply hoping to use a Lightning Lane, then you betta be on your A-GAME at 7AM the day you’re hoping to ride.
