It’s been a LONG time since a brand-new theme park was introduced to the Orlando area. It’s high time we check in on Epic Universe, the NEW theme park coming to Universal Orlando.

Recently, the CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences at NBCUniversal revealed some new details about Epic Universe in Florida. From the looks of it, this new park is going to be, well, EPIC!
Mark Woodbury, the CEO of Universal Destinations & Experiences, recently spoke at the Bank of America Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference. During the conference, Woodbury shared some interesting new details about what guests can expect from Epic Universe.

This park is set to feature some impressive new innovations! Specifically, Woodbury said the new park will be the “most technologically advanced park” yet for Universal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

For example, Woodbury explained that Epic Universe will utilize “facial recognition, photo validation technology” to help provide a “frictionless experience.” Could this technology be used to help guests enter the park more efficiently? We’ll have to wait and see!

Additionally, we now know that the park will be made up of four themed lands inspired by “powerful, trip-driving intellectual property.” One of the main attractions here will be Nintendo Land, and Universal revealed this area will be larger than the Nintendo Land in both Japan and Hollywood.

We also learned that Epic Universe will feature a “lush landscape” with innovative new attractions and food service. We can’t WAIT to learn more!

Woodbury also revealed, “It’s the most technologically advanced park we’ve ever done,” adding, “And that speaks to both the attractions themselves, the next generation of robotics drone technology, all the way through to the guest experience. The full guest journey is really being taken to a whole new level.” Did you catch that? Drone technology! Wow!
