Let’s go eat in EPCOT!

Eating in Disney World has become a favorite pastime of mine! Thanks to the new Jollywood Nights Party, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and EPCOT’s Food and Wine Festival, I have lots of new snacks to look forward to. Now that the latest EPCOT festival just started, so let’s talk about my top 5 favorites!
When it comes to Disney events, The Food and Wine Festival is arguably the most famous of the EPCOT festivals! Food and Wine runs from July 27th until November 18th, and there are over 25 different booths to try.
The festival kicked off on July 27th, and while I didn’t get to try every single item personally, I still managed to make my way to quite a few of the festival booths. Here are my top five favorite eats from the first day of the 2023 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival!
Crispy Duck Bao — China
The Crispy Duck Bao Bun with Hoisin Sauce was a brand new item at the China booth this year. For $5.25, this was one of the best things I ate all day — that’s how good it was.

The duck was very tender, and the bao had a beautiful chewy texture. I was so happy with this little snack!
Tostada de Carnitas — Mexico
The Tostada de Carnitas for $7.75 in Mexico is made with braised pork on a fried corn tortilla with black beans, avocado mousse, queso fresco, and chives.

The tortilla was wonderfully crispy, and I liked how the flavors blended well with it. It offered a nice mix of savory and fresh flavors. The tortilla did get a little soggy from the beans after a few minutes, but that’s a minor thing to worry about.
Teriyaki Chicken Bun — Japan
Okay, the Teriyaki Chicken Bun is a returning favorite, and this year, it’s STILL a favorite. It’s made with chicken, vegetables, and teriyaki sauce for $7.50.

It’s got everything great going for it: a great ratio of chicken to bun, and that sweet teriyaki sauce worked perfectly with that sweet bun.
Fire Taiko Roll — Japan
But that wasn’t the only thing in Japan I loved. The Fire Taiko Roll is NEW this year, and I’m a new fan. It’s a sushi roll with spicy tuna, cucumber, and pickled Daikon Radish served with a spicy sauce for $8.

All those flavors and textures together worked really well, and I also liked the way the crunchy cucumber balanced it all out. It’s a little spicy, though!
Sake Passion Cocktail — Japan
Let’s stay in Japan because the Sake Passion Cocktail at that booth also made my list of favorites. It’s made with sake and passion fruit for $8.75. Interestingly enough, though, it seemed as if my drink had more hints of mango flavor. This was a refreshing drink that’s perfect for those who want alcohol in their drink but don’t want to actually TASTE the alcohol in the drink.

Overall, this year’s Food and Wine Festival was a success! Although I didn’t get to try every single item just yet (give me a few days), our reporting team did try every single new item at this year’s festival and some returning favorites.
